Recently a friend of mine posted this picture on Facebook. I laughed when I saw it and sent it on to my cousin who is get married later this year. But when I looked at it again I realized it can also cause one to stop and reflect on perspective.
When faced with an issue or problem, do you just look at it from one angle, and then develop your approach with that one viewpoint? Do you consider the environment that you will be implementing your solution? Have you considered the perspectives of all the players?
I'm not suggesting analysis/paralysis here, but it is important to understand the context of an issue. Jimmy Cliff sings "I can see clearly now.....I can see all obstacles in my way". Can you and have you?
Inherently, I am not a patient person. I have often said whoever said patience is a virtue was probably a procrastinator. However, I do believe that taking a 360 degree look before you leap ensures a sustainable resolution to most issues and doesn't result in the need for a "do-over."
